Enhancements to its GateWay in-vehicle mobile connectivity solution, EnGo mobile transmitter, and new HEVC solution in lineup on Ideal Systems’ stand

WATERLOO, Ontario — December 7, 2017 — Dejero, an innovator in cloud-managed solutions that provide video transport and Internet connectivity while mobile or in remote locations, has announced that it will showcase solutions for IP network blending and video compression technology in support of remote and mobile broadcasting at the Ideal Systems’ stand ZB5-C50 during CABSAT 2018, which runs at the Dubai World Trade Centre from 14 to 16 January, 2018.

“We’ll be highlighting some of the key developments we’ve made to our solutions over the last year that address everyday connectivity and bandwidth challenges faced by mobile reporting crews in the region when they’re getting content back to base from remote or tricky locations,” said Mark Moore, VP international sales at Dejero.

New to CABSAT this year is the Dejero GateWay in-vehicle mobile connectivity solution, which offers on-location teams fast, reliable, and secure connectivity to the public Internet or private networks using high-bandwidth blended network technology. It enables remote field crews to send and receive large files and access their newsroom or media asset management systems, as well as cloud services used for collaboration.

Enhancing the RF performance of Dejero’s EnGo mobile transmitter is the EnGo Vehicle Mount Kit; also on show at CABSAT. The kit provides a mounting option for newsgathering or production vehicles that connects to roof-mounted high-gain antennas. It means that the EnGo can now be used as an encoder/transmitter in a cellular, satellite or hybrid transmission path vehicle, and then can quickly be disconnected and placed into a backpack or mounted directly onto a camera to give crews maximum mobility when on the scene of breaking news and live events.

Dejero is also showcasing its implementation of HEVC to offer improved picture quality in low bitrate and limited bandwidth environments in two new solutions: PathWay and WayPoint. The Dejero PathWay rack-mounted encoder/transmitter is designed for installation in vehicles or fixed locations and supports both HEVC, when paired with the new WayPoint receiver; and AVC (H.264) encoding, providing automatic detection and immediate backwards compatibility with existing or legacy AVC-based Dejero receivers.

The encoder/transmitter, which contains internal Wi-Fi, is also compatible with the recently launched Dejero CellSat blended cellular and satellite solution. It’s available in two different configurations: an Ethernet configuration that includes two Ethernet ports for satellite (Ku- and Ka-band, BGAN) or wired IP network (LAN/WAN) connectivity; and an Ethernet and cellular configuration offering up to six cellular connections.

Dejero WayPoint is a four output 1U receiver, that supports HEVC decoding to SDI or IP (MPEG-TS over IP) playout workflows. It also supports AVC decoding of feeds from legacy transmitters, has dual redundant power supplies, and comes with data redundancy RAID storage capabilities.

Finally, visitors can see how the Dejero Mobile App for iOS can help mobile journalists and video professionals using smartphones and tablets to broadcast live from any location, record video for future transmission and import or upload edited video files to designated servers when traditional broadcast equipment is not at the scene.
