Versatile technology for a post-pandemic world

The quest for greater mobility in reporting live news from challenging locations started over a decade ago. Ever since, broadcasters have been seeking new ways to report, in real time, with high resolution clarity from busy, chaotic events such as election campaign trails, high-profile sports competitions, breaking news scenes or natural disasters and more recently, to capture a stunning fireworks display at the Global Village in Dubai.

In 2010, Dejero enabled the world’s first live transmission of the torch relay across Canada for the Vancouver Winter Olympics by overcoming significant connectivity challenges in an environment where the 3G HSPA service was just being rolled out. Before then, live broadcasting of a moving subject — runners carrying the Olympic torch in this case — was not possible with conventional satellite technology.
